A Message from the Chief

The volunteer firefighters of the Hayden Station Fire Company are truly special people.

As an all volunteer fire company, Hayden Station is comprised of a diverse group of individuals, each with his or her own knowledge and skills, bound together by a desire to help others in their time of need.

All firefighters are valuable members of the communities they serve. The difference is that, for volunteer firefighters, community service is a way of life. These dedicated individuals are ready to respond to emergencies in their community 24 hours a day; 7 days a week; 365 days a year. Interrupted dinners, missed birthday parties and sleepless nights are all regular occurrences for a volunteer firefighter.

These public safety professionals are never off duty.

This commitment is even more significant when it is viewed from a financial perspective.  An all volunteer fire department saves the taxpayers a great deal of money.  These funds can be used to provide other necessary services, thereby creating a better life for everyone.  It is easy to see that you don’t have to be the victim of a fire, motor vehicle accident or other emergency, to be helped by the local volunteer firefighters.

The members of a volunteer fire company are a family.  This is a bond formed by years of training together and responding to emergencies, under often difficult circumstances.  This close knit family atmosphere means that the members of Hayden Station are always there for each other.  If a firefighter needs some help, odds are there will be someone at the firehouse willing and able to lend a hand.

These are just a few of the reasons that I am proud to be a member of the Hayden Station Fire Company.
